For a week you will keep a journal of your travels through the city. Make note not just of where you are going but of how you get there – how are your movements and behaviors constrained by systems in the city? For this assignment you will focus on the visual. Take photos! Draw maps!
Observe how other people move around you. Make notes. Register anything significant or insignificant. How do people move? Where do they like to congregate? What can you tell about their behaviors and what do their behaviors tell you about the spaces you’re traveling through from this kind of observation?
