2 midterm concepts : layered open map data, visual soundboard

Initial idea: Layered maps, open data, “that street corner”

Objective: Data visualization for a single street corner in multiple cities using Open Street Map via leafletjs.com and unfoldingmaps.org library

Concept: Animate a set of data (i.e. traffic, check-ins, utilities) for comparison, create some sort of interface to interchange between three maps. Explore library to play with simultaneous data vis.

Idea loosely stems from an original project [Paris open map, live markers] : https://github.com/jennjk/hopscotch-geo // hopscotch.xyz

MIDTERM: Visual soundboard, synthesizer, “I want to touch your face”

Objective: Create a visual soundboard/synth based on touch using clips of faces I miss.

Concept: Gestures and interactions of fondness. Explore emotional properties of touch and sound with simple touch interaction, using color, minim library. I sent out a call to friends with no explanation, saying I loved them, asking for a 5-10 second clip of their faces, no words. Looking to create an interaction that translates fondness and warmth via color and sound.
