Kick Kick Baby

The Game that I modified for my first project was Super Monkey Ball. The game takes place in the party game “Racing”. It is a multiplayer game, but the game works with one player. The basic idea behind the game is that the player has to kick the smallest monkey, baby, to the finish line.

In order to play the game, each player needs two controllers. So if two people are playing, four controllers should be plugged in. This makes the game think that four people are playing the game. In the racing game menu, the player can decide how many laps they want to play. If there is only one player playing the game, rather than playing a grand prix, or a one course race, the player should pick timed trials. The player can time how long it takes them to finish the course.

In the character select menu, with two controllers that will be put aside during the game, the two players both pick baby, which will be used as their ball to kick. With the controller that the two players will be using to play the game, they should pick a second monkey. This is a strategic part of the game because the player can pick what they want more from their monkey. The three other monkeys the player can be are AiAi GonGon and MeeMee. Both AiAi and MeeMee lack in strength, but make up for this with their speed. Though AiAi and MeeMee can’t hit and push Baby as far as GonGon can,  they are able to quickly maneuver around baby.

Once the race is initiated, the two players kick their respective baby (player one kicks player two, and player three kicks player four), until they reach the finish line. Baby must cross the finish line before the other monkey in order to win the game. The players are able to use power ups to sabotage their opponent, though it is quite difficult to focus on kicking baby and interfering with their opponent.
