ULO JOINT PROJECT

For this ULO wood joint project, I made a wooden box that is able to combine together with the dovetail joint. This was actually my first time working in the proper woodshop, even though I had some experiences with wood making before, but none of those were in the proper woodshop. While I was making the dovetail joints, precision was the biggest issue that I encountered. It is because usually people will use the dovetail mold as the template, which I didn’t have, so I had to make all of the patterns by myself. Plus, after using the bandsaw, I realized that it was not as precise as I would have liked it to be, so I used chisels to trim it until it got perfect. Last, I am pretty happy with my overall result and also hope that we can have more time to work in the woodshop.

Appreciate that you stepped up to make a more complicated joining sculpture.
The overall form is functional yet minimal.
