Reflection:
For this film assignment, I used time in a combination of linear and non-linear components as I created a video depicting memories or reminiscing about happier times with a specific context but not in chronological order. My objective was to create a nostalgic, sped up video reflecting joyous memories with choppy transitions similar to those of dreams. Other than increasing, decreasing the speed of the clips and mirroring the images in tune with the music, I also edited each clip to give it a vcr effect. I did so by slightly modifying the colors, creating a sort of an unclear sheen over each clip, adding slow waves throughout the video and lastly including the date on the right corner. Although I do think I learned a great deal about the interesting features in premier working on this project, I do wish I depicted more of a clear idea displaying time passing by, either by showing the outside getting darker clip by clip or any other way.
