Reflection:
For my final Time assignment I wanted to use the concept of a sari and show it’s progress through time, specifically in the future. I was inspired by an Indian fashion designer who broke the rules of a traditional Indian garment and turned it into a bathing suit. Therefore, taking the concept of a sari, I turned it into something far from the traditional view by creating it to be black and very simple without any excess detail. My concept of time was focused more on the bio-plastic, the sustainable material i made and hand-stitched into multiple wire triangles. I did so for the sustainable aspect in the future making it easier to replace any ruined piece on the outfit without having to throw the entire item of clothing away. Regarding the material I also emphasized the natural, ripped effect on some of the pieces, embracing the concept of decay through time.
