Presenting Self: Bio

Artist Noam Nayberg was born in 2000 into a Russian immigrant family in Afula, small town north of Israel. His father had been living in America for a couple of years before him and his sister moved to live with him in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Transitioning from a small country into the US, Noam later realized that if he was determined to pursue something he loved, he was able to in this country. He disliked most his classes throughout middle school, but math was the only subject that interested him. This later led him to his decision in pursuing architecture, he thought that his math skills would come in perfect hand in this field and he would get to practice it for the rest of his life. Noam had also been interested in art, he always found satisfaction in creating things, whether it was a drawing or a sculpture.

High school came and Noam had began exploring architecture by taking classes and reading about architects. His architecture class taught a very technical aspect of this field, with all kinds of rules and codes. He completed the projects that were assigned, and eventually got tired of following these “rules” that he was taught in class. It wasn’t until he was assigned to design an educational facility, where he decided to completely disobey all architecture “rules” he had been taught and approach this project like one of his drawings. This is when he brought his artistic skills into this field and began exploring architecture as an art. Since then, Noam had decided that he will approach architecture as an artist and wants to open his own firm where he will practice subject with no constraints or “rules”.
