For the final stage of the graphic motif project, we had to select colors that work with the cutout. I found the strength of primary colors to portray the power and simplicity of the piece. My partner moved from Maryland to California, which he saw as the greatest “shift” in his life. I chose yellow on the right and red on the left, as a reflection on how the sun rises in the east and sets in the west.
