My sound portrait will embody the biblical character Lucifer, and hopefully draw attention to the ways in which he is generally understood in religious context. The piece will be an interactive experience, combining sound and objects to immerse the viewer within it.
The piece will consist of a mirror that faces a wall, behind which wings will hang with a light shining against them. This will create the shadow of the wings on the wall where the viewer will stand looking into the mirror. The viewer will see a reflection of themself with the shadowy wings while listening to the sound portrait piece. The piece will hopefully provoke a slightly uncomfortable sense of self reflection in the viewer.
