Bridge 2 Reflection

In the beginning, I was shocked by the assignment. Since I had to interview someone that I was not familiar with, and I was afraid of the awkwardness during the interview. However, I enjoyed asking questions and having a conversation with a foreigner. I learned more about her life living in America, and how schools and relationships were in American high school. Since I watched many American romantic comedies. It was interesting to learn more about teenagers in the US. Moreover, she was also new to New York. Thus she desired to do a lot of things in New York, and I wouldn’t say I liked half of them. Among all of these things, I had limited to two things. It was either to do the penis game or take weird pictures in the museum of sex. At the end I chose to take weird pictures, both of them were challenging for me since I hated to embarrass myself in front of others, and I hated when others take pictures of me. Furthermore, to visualize the overall experience, I decided to draw on a white T-shirt for Studio class. Initially, I imagined the museum as a sex club; I thought it would be loud like a club. However, the overall experience was different from my expectations. Thus, I wanted to illustrate this experience on the white t-shirt, I wanted to draw an abstracted painting on the front of the T-shirt to show my mental expectations before visiting the museum of sex. I will only draw on half of the T-shirt, I will leave the back empty and white. Since the museum was white, and it was the same as a regular museum. I desire to demonstrate my vibrant colored expectation and ordinary white reality toward the museum onto the T-shirt. Moreover, writing down the letter by hand was interesting. I had not written a full essay by hand in a long time. This time I felt this letter was more memorable to me since I wrote it down word by word. The envelope was new to me since I had never made an envelope by myself. It was great to have this experience. If I had more time to re-do the assignment, I would decorate the letter more. I wanted to draw little illustrations on the side of the message. Overall, the experience was unusual and fun. When I told my friends about this assignment, they were also shocked by it. However, they also thought it was a unique way to discover or explore the city of New York.
