Reflection on ‘The Stranger- An essay on social psychology’

To me, this essay is about a person who is a fish out of water, when he is in an unfamiliar setting. He tries to evolve socially as marine animals evolved when they moved to the land. Adapting to the new setting is about survival and is a necessity. It is about trying to be a part of a community that offers a support structure to hold one in times that are threatening. It is about adaptation and about matching the wavelength of you as a person to a group, in order to fit in or in other words, to be accepted as a part of it.
