In this group project, we made a jacket out of trash that we collected. It is paired with a collage that depicts a model who seems to be in a pleasant mood even though she is slowly drowning in trash. The model represents humanity and her casual attitude can be seen in all of humanity, in the way we behave even when we know we are leading ourselves into our own extinction. We enjoy the way things are packaged, we can find individual fruits that are wrapped in plastic, which is unnecessary. We produce too much plastic for bags and refrain from using other alternatives like paper bags as much we use plastic. If this continues we will face our doom, we will also cost marine life and other species their life. I see this project as a powerful initiative to bring back into peoples mind, what over-consumption and excess trash production will cost humanity.
