Kombucha leather

I began the Kombucha lan a few weeks ago, where I followed the step by step process of brewing tea, adding apple cider vinegar, sugar and the Scoby. I watched the scoby transform the tea to Kombucha with a sheet of leather growing on it. It took longer than I thought it would. The leather when dries is a thin and I couldn’t find a good use for it unless one layers it with glue and makes it thick enough. There are other substances in nature that can be used to create fabric like banana trunk fibers which have been quite successful. Kombucha leather definitely needs a good amount of research. I thought of it as a 3D printing material for art installations.
