Digital Grisaille

Digital Grisaille is painting it started from a black and white drawing and then use the photoshop to create a appearance. It is kind of like making a Grisaille or adding glazes of color in digital way. This project above is a digital grisaille. At first, I draw rectangle and sphere. And base on their light position using the charcoal to make the shadow as black and left light part as the white. Then I using the camera took some pictures as the texture which I could add it on my drawing. After that, I manipulate my drawing into the photoshop and try to find those shape’s vanishing point and those position line. Finally I create a new digital shape of it. For the texture, I choose the picture of wood, because I try to using the other texture, but the wood’s veins was the best fit on the shape. Finally I readjust the shadow by change the curves line. From this project, I started to know more about the photoshop and started to interested into it. And in the digital grisaille, I also find a how beautiful it is to combine the traditional drawing into a digital way.
