Grace Paley’s “Travelling” left me thinking that it is really common for people to see the differences with one another. You might say that a person is not from your country, or this person speaks another language or just looks different than yourself. But what we should all be focusing on is on the similarities we have with others. You and I can fell in love, we can feel pain and joy, we can feel compassion for others, we can see a sunset and watch it as if it was the first time we’ve seen one. We must stop putting barriers between people, because we are going to miss out on all of the ideas, traditions, stories, and so on, that the others have to offer. Because everyone is unique.
