Bridge 3: Process Documentation

Thesis topic / Research topicBiophilic design – a way of designing interior spaces that incorporates nature – holds the potential to increase productivity and alleviate mental health issues, such as anxiety, in people who are in residential and corporate spaces. By looking at scientific studies, it is clear that this correlation between nature and our mental health exists and that design should be moving in this direction in order for people to thrive and function at their best.

Connections: The two (primary) images are shown inside the box themselves, the small figurines represent the book Environmental Psychology for Design, the plant represents the book Nature by Design : The Practice of Biophilic Design, the color swatches represent the book Color, Environment, and Human Response, the tall building represents the book Handbook of Biophilic City Planning and Design, and the magnifying glass shape represents the book Biophilic Design : The Theory, Science, and Practice of Bringing Buildings to Life. On top of this, I scanned different pages from these books and used them as a background inside of the box.
