The Reflection Project

The Reflection Project
Prompt:
For the Reflection section of our semester, students will create a one-page zine, using the single page format Shana showed us. The content for this zine will reflect the projects statement you are creating in Seminar, meaning, the content will reflect your process or your ongoing research pursuits based on the work you did for Bridge Project 4.
Since the project statement you write in Seminar will articulate questions, interests, and research through text, this zine will be shaped by those statements but contain no actual text.Think of this as a project that explores queries, ideas, and arguments through image, material, and format alone. Test materials, create sketches, be authoritative in your interpretation by making every decision count.
This zine will be evaluated on execution, the relationship of form to content, experimentation, and how it works to represent the ideas present in your project statement.
(We were aloud to make anything, Mylo just used Zines as an example or a template)
Here is also part of my seminar reflection that I will be sharing in class along with this project
  1. Write a statement that describes the research project. This is a deep look at your work.

In this research project, I focused on media manipulation that is seen in America. I looked closely at the effects media has on youth and also how it affects consumerism in The United States. I feel that as a woman who is now at age were I can reflect on my childhood and I am able to understand how it has all affected me more than I ever been able to. It has put in societal ideals in my mind. And I think what I find so fascinating about this is how it affects my younger sister who is 14, she is in the age of where this is affecting her immensely, and I feel like she is unable to reflect and realize what is going on around her. Where I am at a place to be able to see these things. And I feel like many people overlook the effect that the media around us has on us.

Here are the collages I made: They show a boy and a girls head open up as if exploding with many of the influences in media.
