Brooklyn Art Library Reflection

I’ve been meaning to go to The Brooklyn Art Library and explore The Sketchbook Project, so when I heard that we were taking a trip to Brooklyn the next class, I was really looking forward to it. The anticipation of opening sketchbook after sketchbook was addicting, knowing I’d see something amazing but unsure of what exactly it would be. I could’ve continued looking at the sketchbooks for hours. Every single one was inspiring and different in its own ways. The use of color or sticking to a theme broad enough to continue onto the next page made me rethink the original ideas I had and how I can make them more successful. The use of space and how each artists manipulated it made me think about how I can use space and similar to the use of color, it translates to what he/she is trying to say or how it works with the consistent theme. This project truly opened up my mind on how to create a sketchbook and what materials I can use. Despite it’s size, a sketchbook really is an unlimited, white blank page.
