“Perhaps we can think of fashion as ‘custom for a time’ and culture as ‘custom over time.’” (pg. 12)
What immediately comes to mind upon reading this quote, is the fleeting nature of fashion. Fashion is constantly changing and adjusting based on the time period, whilst culture is more of a natural /gradual transition and progression in time. I think it’s also important to note that fashion and culture are constantly impacting one other in major ways.
