Sustainable Systems: “What is A Sustainable System/ Three Ways We Learn” Images

Hello!

In this post I am simply documenting some images that tag along with this assignment in a discussion board. Here they are.

Image for Question 1).

This is how I would say I view a system in general. Cyclic, open, and building upon what was there to begin with. Integrated. Whole.

I chose the elevator service at the New School on 2 West 13th Street as a personal example of a system I use. (I should note that I find it highly unsustainable considering its unreliability and imbalanced ratio between the number of students at school and the number of elevators available).

Image for Question 2).

I would have to say that the recycling implemented at this school and as a personal habit of mine is a hearty example of being sustainable.

Image for Question 3).

Personally for me, the best three ways of learning are: kinetically, visually, and audibly or maybe all three at once. Why not? As for a behavior that could be considered unsustainable that I am willing to challenge: Smoking.

Hello, My name is Megan Taylor, I am a returning student here at Parsons; my major is Fashion Design with a peaking interest in environmentalism and animal welfare; I hope to transform the industry someday...slowly but surely. My wish is to combine luxury and aesthetic appeal with the consciousness of how and where it is made along with the idea of what to do with it after use. I have been following my need to create and share with the world art and fashion since the tender age of eleven years old.
