This project dealt with connection and disconnection between humans. Focusing on folding, expanding, moving mechanisms, our object had to show the transition between the two. I chose to make a self defense-like claw, where when relaxed, the spikes would be relaxed as well. But when agitated, the curling of the fist would pull the claws upward for protection. The iridescent plexiglass material serves as a juxtaposition, something so dangerous and harmful is also beautiful and fantasy-like.
