For the final project for my Studio class, I made a small side table with half of it with traditional wood joints and the other half with nails and glue. The idea of the project is to make the project looks normal, but the structures are different which is to show the modern furniture looks still the same but lost its own culture and the soul of it.

The project was fun for me because I was interested in woodworking and I did put a lot of efforts into it and did some research on how people made furniture and how do people make furniture. The one thing that surprised me is that the smartness of wood joints is to make the connection part be hidden, the structures were so complication and beautiful, but most of them are replaced by nails. It was kind of sad because of the loss of tradition.
