Curiosity Journal, Seminar – 05

I said to myself that this year would be different, I said that once I returned to Europe I would start walking. It might not seem as much interesting as I am making it sound, but what I have discovered is that you get to see so much more happening in the surface instead of living in the underworld of the metro stations.

I love finding new restaurants, bookshops, stores, even if I don’t get inside, because I know that later when I get home I will check out on the internet if the place is good, I might even order the food to secretly have a taste before going to the actual place I’ve been keeping an eye on. These daily walks make me feel more Parisian, and not less of myself, they make great conversation topics, just like the day I saw a woman carrying a cat using a baby accessory, just as if it was her own offspring. The day I saw a Tarot book and I found the illustrations amazing, it had a good price and for a reason I still cannot understand I have not bought it. Around where I live, a few streets away there’s a store that sells only tableware in all this different shapes and bright colours. It makes me think of how unique it is the experience of living in Saint Germain des Prés, of crossing the Seine every morning to go to class.

Paris has amazing corners that yet I’m gonna explore. This is opportunity, this moment of my everyday it’s something to be thankful for, to feel blessed and to be curiosos about.
