The map below represents my thinking process when I am developing a visual project. The one represented on the diagram is a children’s book I made last semester for the Drawing/Imaging class. My idea was to create a book that represented feminism in a easy way for children to absorb.
I always believed that education is the basis of everything, the basis of a successful country, of a good character and of a balanced environment, and this base is shaped right in the beginning our lives.People often say that children are like sponges, they absorb all kinds of information you provide them. Through my final project I want to educate children, the future of the world, an important value: feminism. I incorporated this theme with illustrations representing men and women taking the same jobs, showing that both are able to take the same position and succeed. The reason why I wanted my final product to be a book is because children are reading less and less, so I wanted to bring this “old” aspect back, because no technological equipment will ever have the power of a physical book.

After having seen deconstruction projects from past students I have to say I was kind of disappointed with my own presentation. So, for the critique I decided to prepare something different and incorporating more the aspect of my book than only its main colours.
I made 6 panels containing information about my deconstruction, in 3 of them I showed how my creative process worked for 3 weeks, and on the second part I added all this things I would have done if I did not have such a short deadline. Now I can say I feel better with my presentation, I think before seeing other’s students work I didnt really understand what the deconstruction was.

The following images correspond to the display I chose for the presentation in class. For the paper I chose a special glossy A3 size and I used carton plume to “frame” my steps.
