MOMA Museum Visit

This is a photo of a mirror above one of the 3d creations. Adding the mirrors above the works created a new way of looking at the works.
These are the light refractions created by a projection and a prism! Everyone loved this because of how ‘instagrammable’ it was, but it was truly beautiful. The refractions reflected onto a screen with a film that looped.

We had to individually visit the MOMA for Integrated Studio, and I really enjoyed the trip. The MOMA has a lot of very interesting artworks that draw you in. My personal favorite that wasn’t in the Kingelez exhibit was a Basquiat piece that was probably about 14 feet tall. I saw it from across the room and ran over to it out of excitement.

Bodys Isek Kingelez is an artist from the Democratic Republic of the Congo who creates carefully made realistic architecture models out of found objects. Scavenging is a large part of living as an art student in New York, and it’s very interesting to see how a professional/understood artist uses found objects to create beautiful 3d pieces.
