Book Project: Time unfolding

For this project, I was inspired by the symmetry and geometrical shapes that I saw in a book art made by Tauba Auerbach. For this reason, I started folding white pages and getting perfect symmetrical shapes by folding it, like triangles and squares. Then, I wanted to include different colors to it so that each layer can be easily identified as a new phase, time, year of someone’s life. The first layer representing the past, the next layer the present and the last layer the future. As I was working with those three layers, I decided to choose the three primary colors that work perfectly together. The red for the past, yellow for the present and blue for the future. Each layer has a cut out so that you can see the next page, and that is a metaphoric representation of how we see our lives. Eve thought we are living the present, we can look back at the past and wonder about our future.
