BP 3 : past Imperfect . Michelle Byeon

As I choose to design the three-piece of clothes, I inspired by Vincent Van Gogh’s painting and his life story.

This can show the relationship between the exhibition “Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving”. In this exhibition, Frida Kahlo represents herself into her clothes design. Every single clothes by her were created very carefully. She put meaning in each fabric and colors of the clothes.

She knew what is her style and what kind of clothes she needs to pursue.

From her clothes, I can see how she expressed herself into her daily clothes.

My clothes inspired by Vincent Van Gogh, I want to show his life into my clothes with the design and color choices.

Most inspired painting is below here.

Clothes of what he is wearing in the portrait gave me the idea of my jacket design.

Some of the color choices of my clothes will be coming from this painting.

The way Vincent Van Gogh spent his life was very harsh and hard. He was always starving and did not have enough money for a painting.

He was lonely and had a hard time with mental issues.
