Artists Statement

Despite being an illustrator, my work is often produced in the absence of a narrative. I prefer to create impulsively, reflecting my state of mind and my inner subconscious thoughts. As an individual who believes in respect for freedom of expression and the natural world around us, I found that the concepts within my projects are authentically revealed in an organic way as I am producing my work with little to no rules and structure. As a result, a majority of my illustrations tend to depict an abstracted reality of my thoughts and surroundings and the subjects that inhabit them. These are often people, animals, and objects with distorted figures, layered linework, and exaggerated features. I like to draw the world as I see it, allowing my audience to take a closer look at the underlying imperfections of the world around them when they are produced in a visual form.
