Anomaly and Contrast September 2, 2016 Joyce Chen Leave a comment In my anomaly piece, I had drawn the majority of the fish (with overlapping shapes) as well-fed and facing the right. For the odd one out, I created a jagged skeleton of a fish facing the left side, going the “wrong way.” In some ways, because the odd fish didn’t conform with the majority, no matter how small, it is oftentimes seen as an anomaly. For my contrast piece, I created a person on a small boat, static, in the middle of an empty vastness. The figure’s reflection is its opposing color. Both figure and reflection are presented as stark outlines against their respective backgrounds.
