“Growing up in an asian culture does not necessarily mean all we do is memorise and do well on tests, which I am not necessarily good in both of these stereotypical standards, but it does mean that some of us love school, and in that case I am very eager to learn. Through the strict standards of an asian culture, I do have strict morals in my studies to do good, but what drives me is the community around me.
My parents grew up in (mainly) Hong Kong, and came to the United States for university. After adapting and settling in Chicago for 10 years, my family and I moved to Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai. The transitions were tough from time to time, nonetheless eventful through all the seeing and experiencing. From there, I enjoyed traveling and seeing the different cultures and communities elsewhere.
