Lene Kilde sculpts figures inspired by children and their emotions. She believes that children’s body language is their purest form of communication. She intentionally does not complete the body form in order to force audiences to visualize the missing piece and create their own emotions. For my final studio bridge project, I am making my own sculpture. Although the final design is not complete, I searched online to find inspirations for design as well as meaning. Seeing Kilde’s pieces allowed me to gain the idea about making the piece a little abstract. This way, the audience will be engaged and have to actively creates their own meanings and portrayals. It will be interesting to see what they come up with.
