-The artist’s finds pills that start to trigger memories from her addiction. -The A.A books and coins oh her desk indicate that she is trying to better herself and have a healthier lifestyle. -The pills trigger her memory almost like hallucinations. -The editing of the video helps to create this hallucination affect. -Instead of consuming the pills, she uses them to make her art. -Her art helps her to feel a relief, that she is moving beyond the addiction.

Touch Me Don’t Touch Me

– The video shows the conflict in the relationship through movement. The movement of their bodies show what seemed like a strong relationship into movements of hesitation. -There is conflicting emotions on what love is and what love is believed to be. -The hands are important, especially to the narrator. -The hands symbolize support and comfort but in this relationship the marks on the body tell a different story.

Little Elizabeth

-The woman talks about the voices in her head. -The voice tells her she won’t make it through the day; she should just stop now. -She tried to make it go away with different methods. -She then accepted the discomfort of the voice and that’s when she realized it sounded familiar. -The voice was there when she was left with strangers as a little girl. -It was there throughout all the trauma she faced as a child. -She now accepts it and listens to the voice from when she was a child. -She uses it as a way to heal and promises to take care of the little girl (herself). -She accepts that she is not alone.

Beyond Words

The video shows how people belittle mental illnesses. -How some don’t acknowledge that therapy is real and that it is helpful for people. -It shows how people’s words can have an impact. -Also shows that no matter your race, depression doesn’t see that. -Depression impacts people from all races and cultures.
