Field Trip Kings Highway Station F Line

What: Field trip to 18th Avenue and King’s highway stations
Where: 18th Avenue and King’s highway stations on the F line
When: Thursday November 8th. 9am class meeting at 9:45- 11am   7pm class meeting at 7:45pm
Why: Our trip is two fold.
Meet up with a classmate and make the trip out together.
Be sure to take a sketch book, and a ball point pen and hop on the 6th Avenue F train south to Brooklyn.
Please be in the front of the train and get off at Kings Highway stop.
We will meet the artist at the south end of the Kings Highway F line platform.
On the way out, sketch each other and other things people and elements of the train. We have less than a week before we submit sketchbooks to the sketchbook competition and this will provide an opportunity for more drawing in the sketchbook!
Also, we will be meeting with Julien Gardair, the artist who designed the new artwork (sculptural benches) for the two stations mentioned above. He will talk about the process of creating the works and then we will draw them.
Questions to answer:
Who are the figures in the sculptural benches? How did he/mta come to agree on them?
What materials were used and how were they made?
Which one(s) did you like most and why?
