After a long and well deserved three day break and fun Bastille day celebration, the students got back to class today.
We studied perspective drawing. In the morning we reviewed the main construction principals in classical perspective drawing : vanishing point, horizon, converging lines. We practice setting up these reference points on paper and drew a sketch of the class room from each students point of view.
In the afternoon we walk to the Jardins du Palais Royal to put into practice our new skills. The students were able to draw the trees that are perfectly aligned according to a classical French garden design.
It was an intensive lesson but everyone has understood and integrated perspective and is ready to use it in future drawings.
