We began our study of perspective drawing with an exercise, drawing a horizon line with a single vanishing point. We then measured and drew box shapes that receded into the background. We took a field trip to Washington Square Park to draw perspective from direct observation in our sketchbooks. Students focused on finding a composition that contained one-point perspective. Some students were entertained under the arch by local musicians. It was great to be outside in the beautiful fall weather. We later brought our perspective drawings back to the studio, photographed
them and imported into Photoshop where we applied blurring techniques to elicit atmospheric perspective. The works seen here are by Hailey, Carol, Skyler, Sofi and Gal.
