MoMa Ps1Art Book Fair

MoMa Ps1Art Book Fair on my Thesis Journal)

On Friday, I got a feeling of freedom when I was entered in MoMa Ps1. This is my first time had been in MoMa Ps1 Art Book fair. When I entered the courtyard, I saw many artists showing their artworks, colorful books, T-shirts, and tote bag such as red, blue, and yellow colorful colors under the outdoor tents. Also this was an opportunity for me to buy their little art items from the artists. My friend who came along with me bought one of the stickers created by the artists, a blue unicorn that I selected I also thought this was a great way for artists to spread the word about their works and also a time for the public to interact with them.

As I was looking and waking around the art book fair, I still remember the pattern fabric design and children books because I am especially interested in making toys such as animal’s toys, pattern design on fabrics or textiles and children illustration books. On the second floor, I found a pattern fabric room, filled with fabrics that looked lovely and had beautiful pattern designs. I think that these works have an excellent balance, harmony, and are really beautiful. I noticed that the fabrics consisted of repeating patterns, color harmony, straight lines, and curved lines. Seeing these works reminded me of my drawing pattern style. In the future, I plan to incorporate my pattern style with fabrics. Also I thought about the elective class I’m taking, Screen Printing course that teaches us to learn how to print my designs of fabrics or bags.

I also remember the first floor of the store; here I looked through the books that illustrated my interest of children books. I loved the little character design book for children because of its simplicity and clarity. I enjoyed the MoMa PS1 Art book fair, and learned the value of illustration in storytelling. I plan to use what I learned from this visit in my future works.
