“The strategist is not the proprietor of a field of knowledge, but rather assesses the value of the forces aligned on any available territory. The strategist occupies, evacuates, or contests any territory at hand in pursuit of advantage.” MacKenzie Wark
What I took from this quote is represented above. I chose to do an illustration of two brains to reflect knowledge. The one of the left would represent a strategist, one who “occupies, evacuates, or contests any territory at hand in pursuit of knowledge”. I took this to mean that the strategist does not limit himself to knowing one field, but rather takes everything in consideration, ultimately making the “brain” grow. The image on the right suggests the opposite of the strategist, one who is ” the proprietor of a field of knowledge”. I took this to mean that they limit themselves to one field, and thus, do not grow.
