Final Project concept

1) What will you make and why?

I chose from the three designs and decided to make this one, since it is sustainable, multifunctional and protective.

2)  In what ways will this object be useful to YOU over 50 years of change?

The function of hoodies, starve and gloves all work well in daily lives. The easy connection and material choice make me easily repair it if anything is wrong.

3) What specific event(s) of environmental change will it help you navigate?

It will be waterproof at the back pieces. The hoodie, scarf and glove pockets make me feel warm during freezing days.

4) How will it be resilient (use of materials, used in more than one way etc.) and/or encourage social resiliency through its usage ?

All parts can be detachable, which make it save space if it’s not being used. They can also folded and put in pockets designed on them easily to save the package.

5) Is it designed for a particular place? (New York, your hometown etc.)

It can be used everywhere when it’s cold, slightly rainy or even just for looking cool.

Here is Yuzhou Lou's Blog. I will share some notes of courses, reading and personal work in my daily life. You can also call me Jen. I am from Shanghai, China. Now I live in new York, USA. I am studying at Parsons, the New school for Design as a freshman. My major in the further will be Fashion Design. Dark colors are my favorite. I like Lolita Fashion, Traditional Asian style and wedding dresses. Also, I prefer a few of gothic and punk elements. Design is part of lives. This is one thing I believe. It doesn't matter how old you are or what job do you do. Design is a style of living. Keep having day dreams. That's the way to make people create new things.
