Studio Final – 50 hours

My final for my studio class was a circular shaped abstract piece made of wood and attached using string.

During the 50 hours of creating and putting together this piece I spent most of the hours sanding down and creating the wooden shapes. It took hours of experimentation and problem solving. I then drilled holes into the piece and then attached each wooden piece together using coloured string. My initial idea was to create a lamp, where I would place a lightbulb in the centre and have the piece hanging, though I did not have enough time to finish it therefore decided to have an exterior light shine towards it.
