10 Minute Observations

I am standing in the Jardin du Rodin.  The dark statues surround the garden, shinier than usual due to the rain.  From afar they look proportional to me, but up close the statues have exaggerated features, one statue of a man has an absurdly large toenail.  I wonder how much better my life would be if I lived in a house this large with a garden this big.  I think the people who are the luckiest live across from the building and get to look at it.  The house (now a museum) is so pretty it would almost be a shame to live inside it and not be able to look at the full property from a window.  If I were to live in that area, I would pick the apartment that overlooks the entire building and garden.  The bushes in the garden are all pointed and the trees are leafless, the ground is muddy and my boots sink.  The grass looks almost too expensive to step on and the fountain is empty.  There are two children who run around it, I would do the same but I think I’m too old and it would be disrespectful if I were to. The statues hold such movement for being a statue. The figures look like they were frozen in the middle of making a large gesture, rather than posed and still. I think this adds more life to the statues.
