Thoughts about creativity

Creativity is what began our unique evolution to modern day humans. Thinking past what we’re taught is what drives innovation and technology in society today. Collaboration has allowed for the conjunction of equally successful ideas which merge into genius inventions from iPhones to elevators. Creativity can always be pushed and is one of the few things in our world that can always expand. This project in creating a prototype out of materials who’s function is re-seen past their daily use or function has been a way to expand our creativity. It pushes us into thinking abstractly from an initial definition of an objective definition of something. To create something enduring, is to create something that retracts from a traditional way of thinking and marks an era of thinking in that way. Something so far out of its time, becomes enduring, yet may sometimes be a piece which simply gains so much popularity because of its aesthetic may also endure. I feel that there is no clear formula to create an enduring piece: there is a grey area between gaining popularity and pushing creativity, yet the only ingredient that is always needed is authenticity.
