What IS time?
The Project: Design a book exploring the concept of time. This expands on the Time Grid (pictured below), focusing on similarities between images and compiling them into a visual narrative.
The Significance: The Time Archive Book focuses on my interpretation of time as shown through media (photography, books, and music). Its design showcases this focus, using layering of images to highlight specific details. Each picture represents topics such as units of time, and measuring devices as discussed in class, with composition being an important element.
The Next Step: Techniques used and exploration in composition can be applied to work in graphic design, specifically editorial work. Concepts can also be applied to other forms of time-based media such as video and sound.
