Childhood space vol2.

For this project me and Deniss, decided to focus on representing her grandmas garden. That space is very close to her heart as she spent a major part of her childhood life there and even up until today she goes there whenever she feels overwhelmed by the big city she lives in. She treats that garden as her getaway from the reality. She goes there whenever she feel down. That place gives her the ability to distance herself from any problems she’s facing and allows her to just enjoy the present moment.

We decided to represent this space through all the little details that contribute to creating such a beautiful and peaceful scenery. We create  several abstract images in illustrator that would represent all things Deniss associates with that garden.

This is the first mockup sketch we created with the use of illustrator. We decided not to use it in the final piece though as we wonted it to be even more abstract.

This is the first image we created. It is an overall view of the garden, which represents how it is arranged.

The next image is a representation of a swimming pool that can be found in the garden. The swimming pool is very significant for Deniss because its the place where her grandma taught her how to swim. The yellow elements of the image are supposed to represent the drawings that the bottom part of the pool is decorated with.

By creating this image we intended to portray the henhouse where her grandma kept her chickens.

This image represents the area of the garden that was located on a little hill. Whenever she slept over at her grandmas place they used to wake up very early and go there to look how the sun rises.

To develop this project even further we came up with an idea to incorporate the images with sounds she is able to recall. To do that we created a short video that represents not only the place but also the memories she has of it.
