Reflection on my previous entries
Looking back at the texts I have been writing for the past six days certain similarities in terms of topic and subject choice can be noticed.
Almost all of my short essays are written in relation to women and their struggles in modern society. I feel like this topic shows up in so many of my works mostly due to my nationality and the way I have been brought up.
My parents had equal jobs and responsibilities therefor it wasn’t until my early teen years I noticed how much difference in terms of equality there is between women and men.
The fact that I am polish might have also played a big role in my topic choice. The political situation in Poland for the past four years hasn’t been at its best. The leading party has on several occasions proven how little women’s rights mean to them and that really triggers me both as a women an polish citizen.
I would say that my essays focus on two main subjects: women’s rights and femininity (the concept of female body). Writing about those two topics I mention also things like the negative aspects of social media, fascination with non existing ideas about something or someone, stereotypes the concept of unconditional love, I also talk about concepts that have to do with sexuality like perceiving certain body parts as sexual objects or sexual education is Polish schools.
