I really enjoyed this assignment. Conducting research about Parc de la Villette was truly fascinating. Learning about the history of this place was actually quite a complex process as the park kept on unveiling more and more concepts and informations about itself. Going back in history to the beginning of the 19th century its actually crazy to think how important and impactful on the city the meat market was. When I first read that Parc de la Villette was designed for people to play and interact with it I also immediately though about the reading we were assigned a while ago about the Fun Palace. I think that my favorite thing about Parc the la Villette is the notion of combining the natural with the artificial. I thought that what Aditi said in her project about the concrete bleeding with nature was a really beautiful metaphor to what this park is actually about. Even though same areas of Paris are highly urbanised its fascinating to see how nature still manages to break through them. I think that it takes a very brave and courageous architect to create such a project as Bernard Tschumi left it completely up to the public how they wish to interpret and interact with the park.
