Isabelle Sherman – Our Bracelet

The watercolor illustration was a project assigned in Drawing & Imaging, November 2018. The assignment pertained to studying a partner’s important symbolic object in their lives, and displaying the story in a scene.
The story entails of a young girl whose parents often worked and were never home. During her senior year, she spent days alone, and the red letter symbolizes her acceptance into The New School. The second scene displays the young girl and her mother in the car- as my partner had explained that after her senior year her mother and her went on a road trip where they both collected a little rose-golden bracelet. Although the bracelet is not the main point of the scene, I wanted to display the tone of the situation before and after she is reunited with her mother.
