INT.STU – Tete a Tete

Reflection:

The process of making the zine at first was very challenging. It took me a long time to start feeling comfortable for the hands-on process. I felt pressurized to plan the zine layout perfectly before I started making it. However, I realized it is when I jump into the making process that it starts driving me forward.

After the critique, I am glad that my zine could reveal my partner’s characteristics. From his open persona being represented by the open book, to his dynamic attributes being represented by the different textures and line weights. These deliberate choices helped me show who he is as a person. Additionally, I am also glad that the composition of the zine allowed every element to be visible though I chose to use transparent materials. One thing I learned to change about the zine is its binding technique. Instead of using thread I would change to use binder rings or wire for a stronger structure. Ultimately I am glad that this project allowed me to be more comfortable creating on physical materials that I lack the experience and skills of.
