What is it that I am trying to investigate in my media practice? What am I most passionate about?
Before I started this class, I wasn’t sure but after completing the course I have understood my passion for photography and editing software like photoshop. Due to which I have enrolled in the second part of this course which is the media design principles, so I can master the skill of editing tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign. Also, In future, I would be enrolling in a photography course.
What are my strengths and weaknesses?
I believe my strength is that I am hardworking and a quick learner. My weakness is that I am not very experienced in photography and technical aspect of the lighting is challenging for me.
What are the core elements missing from my practice? How will I obtain them?
The Core element missing from my practice is the technical skill to handle a camera. I believe after practicing and studying photography and taking a course at The New School will help me obtain the required skill.
What was my preferred media before the course? After the course?
I was passionate about learning photoshop and Indesign before the course. Now I wish to master my skill in all the editing software and photography as well.
What is the next topic, theme, or question I would like to investigate in my next project?
I did a project on ‘A day in New York’ in my photography assignment and I wish to explore that topic more and find new things.
What is something I learned in this class that I could teach to someone else?
The best thing i learned from the class is to believe in myself and the process of learning and I believe that I would be able to impart this knowledge to someone else as well.
What is something I will try to do next semester that I have never done before?
As i have already mentioned, I would take up a photography class from parsons and also a graphic designing class.
What is something I will try to do every day or every week that I did not do before this course?
I would explore the beauty in the process and practice my photography skills and hopefully master it by the end of this degree.
What is a creative project that I would do with a budget of $150 million?
For my Interactive design class, I came up with the concept of a company- Influencers Den. I would like to pursue the same project with the money.
How could I do the same project with a budget of $150?
Thankfully after taking this class, I am a bit of photographer, editor, filmmaker, sound recordist, web designer myself and I could do the creative part of designing a website for the company myself which would save me a lot of money and also time. So I would be able to invest this money in relevant things to make this company a big success.
