5 significant things that I learned from my group critique about my prototypes:

  1. Having simple layout of all my drawing so that the focus is on the costume
  2. Using color medium and detailed drawing will help show more of the costume
  3. Pop up can be more  dynamic, for example when someone open my book, pop up will appear.
  4. Background for my collage can be less saturated so that the pop ups stand out more.
  5. Put the focus on the costumes that are only from the films.

In 1 paragraph (10-15 sentences) describe what you think makes a successful Bridge 4. What are your personal standards and goals? In your opinion, what do you need to do to make a final project you are proud and excited by?

I think a successful bridge 4 should show the most important aspects of the artist’s life. So for my memorial, I would like to focus on her career and her strong and brave personality. I would like to make something that can show her personality and style. Also, I think a memorial should be something easy to look at, not so complex and disturbing since it is for public. Therefore my goal should be something which shows my artist’s life, career and personality visually. Also not only using her style in my book, I want to show her personality and identity by having Japanese writing and pattern on the cover. By having dynamic pop-up can show her braveness and the style of her costume designs.

I think in my final draft, the illustrations are almost done, so I would like to focus more on binding the book. I want the final piece to be in good quality so binding with the thread can be challenging but I want it to be put well together. Also the covers of the both books should be attractive and catch the audience’s eyes.
