Seminar2: Bridge 2, Proposal

Research Proposal

I chose cherry blossom as my object to explore because it was something I’ve always thought it’s beautiful and feels some sort of relation to it. I always felt that it represents Japan and its culture, and usually, Japanese people find it important than other flowers. Therefore, I wondered why do Japanese people find cherry blossom so significant in their culture? What do people actually feel when they see cherry blossom? I wanted to explore mainly on its significance in my culture. I actually haven’t decided my main question since cherry blossom is still a broad topic. Within the exploration of its significance in the culture, the question I am thinking of asking is, ‘does people perceive cherry blossom differently than the past, was it more significant in the past?’
